The British Forces Broadcasting Service (BFBS) is live on 106.9 FM, your local radio frequency across Catterick, and on 1287 AM in Dishforth, Ripon and Topcliffe.

BFBS Catterick broadcasts great music, local news and information for Armed Forces personnel and their families, plus programmes that listeners will recognise from BFBS Radio stations overseas.

Chris Kaye presents the BFBS Catterick Breakfast Show on weekdays 0630-1000 hrs and Warwick Mead is on air 1500-1900 hrs Monday to Friday for the Afternoon Show, which is broadcast across the whole of the UK bases network.

BFBS Reporter Abigail Huckstepp covers local radio and TV news, and the daily schedule also includes live bulletins from British Forces News, bringing listeners the top military stories from around the world.

BFBS Catterick also links to programmes from across the station’s network, such as the Total Ops Connection – live from Afghanistan 1000-1300 hrs every weekday – and Access All Areas, the slot for live dedications and messages, on air 1000-1300 hrs every Sunday.


As well as listening to BFBS Catterick you can watch BFBS TV’s bespoke news programme, British Forces News. It’s broadcast live every weekday on Information TV at 0630 hrs, on Sky Channel 212, Freesat 401, and online at
