All groups of pupils, including the large number of pupils from army families, make excellent progress and thrive in all aspects of their academic and personal development. Parents and carers are extremely positive about the work of the school.

• Pupils achieve exceptionally well from starting points that are often low, and progress across the school to the end of Year 4 is outstanding. All groups make outstanding progress, including disabled pupils and those who have special educational needs. There is exceptional progress in reading.

• Teaching is outstanding. The skilled work of all adults ensures that all pupils learn at a rapid pace.

• Behaviour and safety in the school are outstanding. Pupils have exceptionally positive attitudes to learning. New pupils are not only nurtured extremely well by all staff, but they also benefit from the warm welcome and supportive care of their classmates and so feel very safe.

Lulworth and Winfrith Church of England VC Primary School

Lulworth and Winfrith Primary School is an amalgamated school on two sites in the beautiful neighbouring villages of West Lulworth and Winfrith Newburgh, with Key Stage 1 at Winfrith and Key Stage 2 at Lulworth. The Winfrith site has the added benefit of a heated outdoor swimming pool which is used by all the children during the warmer months.

The school enjoys small class sizes; each single age class has between 12 and 20 pupils, a full time class teacher and some teaching assistant help. Parents can be assured that pupils will receive individual attention in their crucial first experience of the school world.

A Pre-School is available on the Winfrith site that takes children from the age of 2.5 years and also one associated with the school is based at the nearby Lulworth Army Camp. The school has strong connections with the Church of England and the children are frequent visitors to both St Christopher’s church at Winfrith and Holy Trinity church at West Lulworth.
