District Nurse and District Midwife
A district nurse and district midwife are attached to the practice to perform nursing duties in the home and arrange obstetric care. The district midwife attends the Ante-Natal Clinics and also carries out home visits after early discharge from hospital following delivery.
A request for a home visit should only be made if the patient is too ill to attend surgery. Children can usually be brought to surgery. Please make home visit requests before 1000 hrs.
Out of Hours and Night Calls
Urgent calls outside surgery hours are dealt with by the doctor on call. Details can be obtained by phoning Bicester 245665 at all times.
Persons taken ill while staying locally in Ambrosden, but temporarily away from their own homes, can be seen by arrangement at the surgery.
The dispensary is open during surgery hours and medicines prescribed by the doctor can be obtained at the surgery dispensary. The NHS prescription charge applies to all persons not entitled to free prescriptions under the NHS. Repeat prescriptions are available, but should be requested after 1130 hrs and at least 48 hours in advance.
