The Army Welfare Service Team
The AWS team is comprised of experienced staff members who provide a confidential service to cater for all aspects of welfare support throughout the 11 Inf Bde area. The AWS is on hand to support and advise all Service personnel (including single and unaccompanied) and/or their dependants. Anyone needing assistance from the AWS can self refer by contacting the office in Maurice Toye House. The team is made up of the following elements: • Personal Support • Community Support • Administrative Support • Personnel Recovery Unit Social Worker and HIVE.
The Senior Army Welfare Worker (SAWW) is responsible for ensuring the delivery of a confidential Personal Welfare Service to our community. The Aldershot Personal Support Group consists of a Senior Army Welfare Worker and six Army Welfare Workers. Individuals may refer themselves, or be referred through the Unit, the Doctor, the Health Visitor or any other agency or concerned individual.
AWS Community Support is provided throughout the Garrison, mainly through the community centres. The Senior Community Development Worker (SCDW) is based in the Headquarters and is supported by four Community Development Workers (CDWs) and three Gurkha Support Workers (GSW).
