This is situated opposite the Sergeants' Mess in Cholswell Road. The following facilities are available: Bouncy Castle rental, Karaoke rental, Bar and Hall rental.

Community Centre

The Community Centre hosts a variety of activities to support the welfare needs of all serving personnel and their families.

The Community Centre is also available to be booked for private parties and functions for military families at a cost of £25. Further details can be obtained from the 4 Regt RLC Welfare office on 01235 543562.

Unit Welfare Office

11 EOD Welfare Team are located on the upper floor of the Welfare House at 15 Ordnance Road. If you have any problems please feel free to visit. The ground floor of the Welfare House is used for Coffee Mornings and Mother and Toddler Groups. It consists of a lounge, dining room, kitchen and soft play area. This facility can be booked by personnel and their families for meetings, parties etc. via the Welfare Team.

Didcot Contact House

The Contact House, known as ‘Felix House’ is located at 7 Second Avenue within Vauxhall Barracks. This has been allocated as a Welfare facility for personnel to rent. It has three bedrooms, is fully furnished and includes a cooker, fridge freezer, washing machine and other small appliances. The house is situated within walking distance to the town centre and the railway station. London is approx one hour away and Oxford 20 minutes by train. Vauxhall Barracks is close to the A34 and M4 and M40 motorways, making it an ideal base for social visits.

The house can be rented via the Welfare Office on 94234 3107 or 01235 513107. The price is £25 per night paid in advance. To avoid disappointment, bookings should be made as early as possible.

This facility can be rented for the visits of families and friends and is not restricted to married personnel. It provides single personnel the opportunity to invite their families down to visit them in the local area.

Phoenix Club

The facility contains a pool table, dart board, gaming machine, beer garden and BBQ area. It also sells basic provisions. It is a popular venue, open to all.

Opening hours are:

Mon-Fri 0730-1800. All ranks, civilians, contractors, families.

Mon-Fri 1800-closure. Junior Ranks and families. No children under 16.

Sat & Sun 0900-1800. All ranks, civilians, contractors, families.

Sat & Sun 1800-closure. Junior Ranks and families. No children under 16.

The bar will be open for alcohol sales from 1700 hrs.
